1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
My comeback from a neuromuscular disorder I developed as a child called Guillain-Barre that left me effectively paralyzed. Many people take their ability to be active and stay healthy for granted; I’ve fought hard for mine and will never let anything slow me down. Now I’m a beginning runner!

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
My heroes are those who put on a uniform to serve our country every day. As a military brat, the sacrifice for defending freedom is something I understand well. I never hesitate to thank a veteran for their service and my mission is to inspire others to do the same.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
My wedding ring. My husband proposed to me on the Eiffel Tower on my birthday. He is deathly afraid of heights, but has always gone to great lengths to show me how much he loves me – and 900 feet up on a windy evening was definitely a show of love!

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
One of my fellow International sisters recently gave me a nickname that I adore: she calls me “Quiet Storm” for my ability to effect great change in an unobtrusive way. Another sister calls me “Rachel-vision” for my frequent activities, appearances and social media visibility. My pageant sisters keep me laughing!

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
Race season! The warm weather that we are blessed with in the Lone Star State means perfect conditions for racing my car with (and against!) my husband from February through December. That’s when you’ll find me doing 120 mph down the back straight!
